Dolly J. Warrington, 96

Dolly J. Warrington, 96, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, died quietly surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Euless, Texas, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014.

Dolly Jean was born in Abbington, Illinois, to a young widow, Etta “Alice” (Cramblett) Germond on Oct. 5, 1918. Dolly grew up in Southern California and was raised from the age of 6 in the Masonic Home for Children until her high school graduation. She always spoke highly of her time there and the care given her.

Josephine Hildebrand obituary

In Austin, Minn., of consumption, Josephine L. Hildebrand, beloved wife of J. B. Hildebrand of this city, aged 28 years. The deceased was born in Christiana, Norway and came to this country at the age of 5 years. About ten years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Hildebrand, a prominent business man of this city. The fruits of this union are two children, a daughter and son, aged 9 and four years, who are thus left motherless. The remains were taken to Lyle, Minn., on Monday last and interred in the cemetery at that place. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. E.

Miss Julia Nelson obituary

Miss Julia Nelson died of consumption Wednesday at the home of her sister, Mrs. R. C. Rustad, south of Mona, age 23 years. She had always been in good health until about eight months ago since which time she has been failing. She was born in Mona, Feb. 2, 1880, and graduated from the Mona public school. Her entire life was spent in this vicinity. She was of a cheerful, loving disposition, and died calmly, content that her soul should pass to its Maker. She leaves a father, C. M.

Amond Johnson killed

Amond (sic) Johnson, living one mile north of the village, was killed by the south bound passenger train on the Milwaukee road about eight o'clock Wednesday evening. He attempted to cross ahead of the train at the crossing near Hughson's. His horse got across and was not hurt but the train struck the wagon body throwing Johnson out and killing him. The train backed up and brought the body to the station.

Michael Schwandt, who has been ill for several years passed away Monday morning, Dec. 9, at his home one mile west of Lyle.

He was born at Jacob's Hagen, Germany, Oct. 22, 1840. In 1872 he moved to Watertown, Wis., and in 1873 came to Minnesota where he has since lived. In 1880 he was married to Miss Henrietta Fishbeck of this place.

Our Savior's Church, Lyle

Funeral services for Mense P. Fossey, 91, of Lyle, Minn., who died Friday, May 1 at St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center, were held Monday, May 4 at Our Savior's Lutheran church, Lyle, with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.

Mr. Fossey was born February 18, 1896 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, the son of Anton and Olivia (Christianson) Fossey. He attended Pleasant Hill Prairie school. He was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran church.

Ole Running of Lyle, whose death at the hospital in Austin we noted last week was born in Mitchell county, Iowa, Feb. 7th, 1872, where he lived until the spring of '98 when the family moved to the farm west of Lyle. He came to Lyle a few years later where he has since been engaged in the blacksmith business. He was a member of the Lutheran church.

Webster Johnson, 87

Webster Johnson, 87, of Lyle, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Comforcare Good Samaritan Center, Austin.

He was born Dec. 25, 1915, to John O. and Mathilda (Arneson) Johnson in Lyle.

He graduated from Lyle High School in 1934, attended the University of Minnesota for three years then returned to Lyle to farm. He began a dairy operation and delivered milk door to door in Lyle. Later he raised beef cattle and crop farmed.

On Jan. 14, 1940, he married Marlys Richardson. They had seven children.

Donna Belle Duenow Bensend, 83, of Mona, Iowa, died on March 3, 2016 at the Muse Norris Hospice, Mason City, Iowa.

Donna was born July 28, 1932 in Otranto Township, Mitchell County, Iowa to Roy and Bessie (Berg) Duenow. She was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran Church. She graduated from St. Ansgar, Iowa Senior High School and received her teaching certificate from Iowa Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Chelsey Amber Morgan, 16, of Lyle, Minnesota, died Aug. 20, 2014, in Lyle, Minnesota.

Chelsey was born Jan. 21, 1998, in Fairmont, Minnesota, to Dennis and Terri (Henry) Morgan. She attended elementary school in Lime Springs, Iowa. When Chelsey was in sixth grade, the family moved to Lyle, Minnesota.
