Lloyd Oswald Richardson, 93

Lloyd Oswald Richardson, age 93 of Austin, Minnesota, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

Born Dec. 21, 1923 to Hans and Anna (Oswald) Richardson in the village of Lyle, Minnesota, he grew up and graduated from high school in 1941 before serving in World War II. He married Esther Nestrel on Dec 31, 1948. She passed away in 2007.

Austin friends were saddened Wednesday when a message came announcing the death of one of our good women, Mrs. Wilson Beach. Death occurred Tuesday, Oct. 20th at 5:30 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lindsley in Saginaw, Mich., where she had gone to make her home after her husband's death. Mr. Beach died in Austin, June 23. Mr. and Mrs. Beach were married June 18, 1898. Both were members and loyal workers in the Baptist church. Since leaving Austin, Mrs. Beach had been in poor health and failed rapidly for two weeks previous to her death.

GLEASON- At his residence in Cedar City, six miles south of Austin, Minn., March 20, 1872, Rev. D. B. Gleason, aged 38.

The deceased resided for several years at Shell Rock and Freeborn, in this county, where he was known, and for aught we know, universally esteemed as a conscientious and faithful minister of the gospel, and doubtless many will drop a sympatheic tear to his memory when they learn he is no more.

AUSTIN -- There will be a memorial service for Roger A. Olson at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with the Rev. Bruce Wilder officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 91. Spring burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.

Mr. Olson, 46, of Route 1, Austin, a carpenter, died Friday evening (Jan. 3, 1997) at his home after a four-year illness with cancer.

In loving memory of Patricia Ann Heiny, 85, who peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on May 24, 2016, in DeBary, Florida.

Patricia was born June 25, 1930, to Martin and Esther O’Marro. Married to James Heiny March 2, 1950. They have six surviving children; Deborah Van Ravenhorst, Craig Heiny, Mike Heiny (Maxine Tasker), Bill Heiny, Jon Heiny, Amy Heiny (Mark Buringrud); who were happily and healthily raised in the small burg of Lansing, Minnesota.

WOODBURY -- At the residence of Darwin Patterson, in this city, on the 15th instant, Ira K. Woodbury, aged 78 years.

Mr. Woodbury was a native of Ackworth, N. H., and came to this State as early as 1852, living about three years in Mower County, and then taking a farm adjoining this city, where he resided till a couple of years ago. He was a man esteemed by his neighbors, and will be kindly remembered by the old settlers of this region.

--DIED.-- Amy L. Niles departed this life, Wednesday, March 16th, 1881 at 2 A.M., aged 13 years, 4 months, 18 days.

The funeral took place on Thursday, at 11 1/2 A.M., at the residence of Mrs. Didamia Niles, who is the widow of the late John B. Niles of Lyle. Prayer was offered at the house, from thence proceeded to Cedar City school house where a suitable sermon was preached by Rev. A. Cressey of Austin. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends, and the body buried beside her father and two others of the family in the Cemetery of Cedar City.

Mrs. Nelson, 74, of Austin, died Tuesday (April 19, 2005) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Denis M. Nelson will be 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Mark Nordell officiating. Burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in rural Austin.

Mr. Nelson, 56, of Route 2, Austin, died today (Sept. 11, 1996) at his home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Austin, and graduated from Austin High School. He was employed at Hormel Foods Corp. in Austin.

Mr. Mudra, 54, died unexpectedly Tuesday (May 27, 2008), in his sleep.

Earl Joseph Mudra Jr. was born June 26, 1953, in Austin. He grew up and attended school in Austin. Mr. Mudra worked various jobs.

At her home in the west part of the city, Tuesday morning, April 3, 1900, of old age, Mrs. Catherine Merry, aged nearly 85 years.

Catherine McLaughlin was born in June, 1815, in the parish of Lougfield, county of Tyrone, Ireland. Her father had a good dairy farm and was well off. He died when she was 18 years old. She came to America with acquaintances at the age of 22 and worked out for several years in Albany, N. Y., where her cousins lived. She was married there to Eben Lewis Merry.
