William Meadowcroft obituary

WILLIAM MEADOWCROFT

William Meadowcroft, aged 55 years, died Monday evening, Feb. 19 1912, at his home in Minneapolis of a stroke. We have not full particulars as we write.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Meadowcroft and was born near Janesville, Wis., in May, 1856. About 1864, he came with his parents to London township where he grew up. He was married about thirty years ago to Miss Sophronia Osborn. Most of their married life has been spent in Austin. They moved to Minneapolis about two years ago.

Lorraine Mary McFarland, 91, of Austin, passed away on Sept. 12, 2013, in East Troy, Wis.

Lorraine was born to Sylvester and Esther O’Marro on Oct. 26, 1921, in Calmar, Iowa.

They returned to Austin when she was a young child and lived in Dutch Town. She graduated from Austin High School in 1939.

Lorraine worked at Hormel Foods during World War II. She married Calvin Johnson, but they were only married a year when “Ike” passed away of an undetected heart problem.

Jens Larson, 82, of Brownsdale dies

BROWNSDALE -- Jens I. Larson, 82, of 403 W. Main in Brownsdale, died Thursday (April 30, 1992) at the Fieldcrest Nursing Home in Hayfield.

Mr. Larson was born Nov. 6, 1909, in Denmark. He immigrated to the United States when he was 21 and later married Elizabeth ``Betty'' Olson in Luverne, Minn., on Sept. 11, 1953. He worked as a nursing home custodian and was a deacon of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.

Mary Kittridge obituary

--The funeral of Mrs. Kittridge, wife of D. P. Kittridge, was held at Cedar City school-house, Saturday, January 29th. Although the day was very stormy, yet there was a large number of people gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed, and to sympathize with the bereft husband and motherless children, who mourn the loss of a good, faithful wife and mother. The sermon was preached by Rev. Alfred Cressey, of Austin, and several of the Methodist choir, by request, went down to assist in the singing.

David Kittridge obituary

--David P. Kittridge, who died of consumption in Austin Friday, August 28th, was a native of Maine, where he was born in 1835. He has been a resident of Mower county for the last 18 years. Mrs. Kittridge died in February, 1881. He leaves five orphan children--Mary, Etta, Ella, Willie and Sadie. His funeral services were conducted by W. E. Stanley, and the burial was in Cedar City cemetery, Saturday afternoon.

Ruth was born Feb. 25, 1919, in Austin, to Ralph and Nina (Moshier) Warrington. She attended the District 14 county school and graduated from Austin High School. Ruth married Leonard Heiny Jr. near London, Minn., July 30, 1938, at the home of her uncle, Joe Magee.

Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church Women, Royal Neighbors, Cedar City Cemetery Association, Eagles Auxiliary and the Lyle American Legion Auxiliary.

Ethel Mary Harrison, 90, of Austin died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Ethel Mary Young was born Oct. 20, 1921, in Wiscoy Township in rural Winona County to George and Mame (Corcoran) Young. She married Richard Ellsworth Harrison on Feb. 6, 1947, in Sioux Falls, S.D. Together, they had two sons, Gary and Steve.

AUSTIN -- A memorial service was held for Viola Hanson in Williams Bay, Wis., on Sunday. A Minnesota service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Cedar City Cemetery in Austin.

Mrs. Hanson, 93, of Williams Bay, formerly of Austin, died May 17, 2000, at Cherry Glen Retirement Home in Williams Bay.
